An audience of 50 people packed the Engine Room theatre in Bendigo on October 15, 2024, to witness a special performance of Biting the Hand by Anne Southall.

The play was the centre piece of Anne's latest research project on trauma-informed education.

The project aims to create, through theatre performance, an interactive and immersive experience as a source of learning for mentor teachers and undergraduate students to interrogate their trauma-informed understandings and current practices.

The audience was spellbound by the 30-minute play and were still talking about it several hours later.

The play, which featured Peter Bevin, Patti Fawcett, Helen Gramberg and Rebecca Morton, was directed by Jeffrey Bryant Jones.

Congratulations to all!
